EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, met in regular session <br />in the Commissioners' Meeting Room in the Cabarrus County Governmental Center in Concord, North <br />Carolina, the regular place of meeting, at 6:30 p.m., on November 17, 2014, with Elizabeth F. Poole, <br />Chairman, presiding. The following Commissioners were: <br />PRESENT: Chairman Elizabeth F. Poole; Vice Chairman Larry M. Burrage and Commissioners <br />Christopher A. Measmer, Stephen M. Morris and Jason A. Oesterreich <br />ABSENT: [None.] <br />ALSO PRESENT: Michael K. Downs, County Manager; Pamela S. Dubois, Deputy County <br />Manager; Susan B. Fearrington, Finance Director; Richard M. Koch, County Attorney; and <br />Megan I.E. Smit, Clerk to the Board <br />The Cabarrus County Board of Elections certified to the Board of Commissioners (the "Board ") <br />that the result of the bond referendum held on November 4, 2014, with respect to the proposed <br />$11,000,000 General Obligation School Bonds of Cabarrus County was 31,424 votes "For" approval of <br />the Bond Order and 16,676 votes "Against" approval of the Bond Order, and delivered a copy of the <br />Certificate of Canvass to the Board. <br />read: <br />Commissioner <br />then introduced the following resolution the title of which was <br />RESOLUTION CERTIFYING AND DECLARING RESULTS OF 2014 <br />REFERENDUM ON CABARRUS COUNTY GENERAL OBLIGATION <br />SCHOOL BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF NOTICE <br />THEREOF <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus County desires to certify and declare the <br />results of the referendum held November 4, 2014; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus County meeting in regular <br />session in Concord, North Carolina, on November 17, 2014, does the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR CABARRUS COUNTY: <br />1. The Board hereby certifies and declares the results of the referendum held on November <br />4, 2014, with respect to the proposed $11,000,000 General Obligation School Bonds of Cabarrus County, <br />to be 31,424 votes "For" approval of the Bond Order and 16,676 votes "Against" approval of the Bond <br />Order. <br />2. The affirmative votes of a majority of those voting having been received, the Board <br />hereby certifies and declares that the Bond Order entitled "ORDER AUTHORIZING $11,000,000 <br />GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BONDS" is now in effect. <br />C -2 Page 146 <br />
