Linay Hilts entered the Family Self Sufficiency Program in August 2014. She is a single mother of <br />four, who entered the program with a goal of obtaining employment, job skill certifications and a <br />desire to turn her passion for pastry arts into a profitable business. With the assistance of her <br />Family Development Specialist she has completed two of her stated goals in less than ninety days. <br />Linay has obtained two employment certifications, which led to her becoming employed with two <br />jobs for the first time since 2010. <br />Linay is currently working as a Substitute Teacher with Cabarrus County Schools, where she <br />utilizes her Effective Teacher Training Certification. Linay is also employed with Amazon.com's <br />Fulfillment center, and her custom cupcake clientele is growing by leaps and bounds from the <br />multiple networking opportunities while she acquires job skill certifications. <br />Linay possesses an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales and has a growing <br />custom cupcake business! Linay recently showcased her talents, skills, and passion for pastry arts, <br />by catering for Amazon.com's Grand Opening Launch on November 19, 2014, here in Concord, NC. <br />Linay also understands the importance of service to her community which led her to join forces <br />with a local retailer to raise money for breast cancer as well as share her custom cupcakes with the <br />Cabarrus County community. On September 26, 2014, Lane Bryant, located in Afton Village <br />welcomed Linay and her cupcakes where ten percent of the cupcake sales were donated to the <br />Susan G. Komen Foundation. <br />Linay is currently working with her Family Development Specialist, to acquire entrepreneurial skills, <br />in support of her desire and program goal of expanding and starting a custom cupcake bakery here <br />in Cabarrus County! <br />Attachment number 2 <br />F -13 Page 299 <br />
