CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF • • <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1� <br />p TBcA�a 11i JANUARY 22 20 <br />��fiiffJfl /�� <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning & Development- HCCBG Committee Rules of Operation and <br />Lead Entity Designation <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County's Home and Community Care Block Grant committee is <br />proposing a restructuring in response to the county's reorganization of <br />aging services. The committee would like to present a set of rules for <br />operation and to propose that the Human Services Department become <br />the lead entity effective July 1, 2013. Currently, the Area Agency on Aging <br />at the Centralina Council of Governments is serving in the lead role on an <br />interim basis. A July 1, 2013 effective date coincides with the new contract <br />year and allows for training time for the new lead agency. The new rules <br />of operation will provide members and the public with a clearer picture of <br />who serves on the committee and how the committee operates. Also <br />included is a history of the Home and Community Care Block Grant <br />process for your review. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />The committee is requesting three actions: <br />1. Adopt the proposed Rules for Operating <br />2. Appoint the Human Services Department as the lead agency for the <br />HCCBG program <br />3. Appoint the designated agencies to the HCCBG committee. <br />The committee is requesting that all of these actions should be made <br />effective July 1, 2013. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />F -5 Page 53 <br />
