Agency Resources: <br />SRCAA is in the process of revamping internal systems. The information technology <br />systems used by our staff provide some outcome data however there are multiple <br />departments using different systems. In January 2013, IT will be outsourced to improve <br />internal IT communication systems and other resources are needed and being sought to <br />develop a database system for interface. Reporting of outcomes to various funders would <br />be greatly enhanced if these resources come available. <br />c. Community Resources: <br />Community resources that address the rising numbers of homeless persons and or those in <br />need of Affordable Housing in Cabarrus and Rowan counties is a resource need yet <br />untapped. Providers at Workforce meetings have identified the need for a strategy to <br />address housing and homelessness. Additional community resources and a community - <br />wide strategy to end homelessness is important to our participants coupled with a strategy <br />to expedite placements in subsidized housing options. <br />Section III: Goal and Strategy <br />5. Long -Range Goal: <br />To provide support and comprehensive services to three hundred and thirty (330) low- income families <br />and individuals to develop skills and income so that forty -five (45) may rise above the poverty income <br />level before 0613012016. <br />6. Strategies for Achieving Long -Range Goal: <br />To provide supportive services for families or individuals to develop skills and increased income so <br />they may rise above the income poverty level. <br />Objectives <br />o To provide family development and case management services for low- income <br />families so that they can rise above the poverty level. <br />o To ensure that program participants understand their role in the partnership with <br />SRCAA so they are able to identify, create and attain their goals. <br />o To continue our partnership with area corporate, private and community partners to <br />eliminate the barriers to poverty that prevent our participants from being successful <br />o To work closely with local offices of the Department of Human Services to address <br />the needs of our participants. <br />o To work closely with the Department of Workforce Solutions to keep the community <br />abreast of the employment trends and available work. <br />o Continue to provide Community Forums, individual participant counseling, <br />mentoring and referrals to increase participant awareness of community and agency <br />Fiscal Year 2013 -14 Community Services Block Grant Application <br />Page 18 of 42 <br />Attachment number 2 <br />F -6 Page 82 <br />
