BY -LAWS <br />of <br />CABARRUS COUNTY ACTIVE LIVING AND PARKS COMMISSION <br />ARTICLE I <br />Name <br />The name of this body shall be the Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks Commission. <br />ARTICLE II <br />Creation <br />The Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks Commission hereinafter referred to as <br />"Commission" is created by the action of the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus <br />County pursuant to Chapter 160A, Article 18 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. <br />ARTICLE III <br />Purpose and Objective <br />Section 1. The Active Living and Parks Commission shall serve as the advisory body <br />for the Department of Active Living and Parks and the County of <br />Cabarrus. The Commission shall suggest policies to the Department, the <br />Manager and the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, within its <br />powers and responsibilities as stated in this ordinance. The Commission <br />shall serve as a liaison between the Department, the Senior Center <br />Advisory Council, the Manager, and the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners of the unit and citizens of the community <br />Section 2. The Commission shall consult with and advise the Department, the <br />Manager and the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in matters <br />affecting parks and sr. centers policies, programs, staffing, finances, and <br />the acquisition and disposal of lands and properties related to the total <br />community recreation program, sr. centers, and to its long- range, projected <br />program for recreation. <br />1 <br />H -3 <br />Attachment number 2 <br />Page 159 <br />
