together with those who attended the meeting and going over the needs of Cabarrus <br />County. <br />Presentations for unallocated funds of $2,250 <br />Rich Smith stated that with the Sex Offender program they only requested $25,000.00 <br />leaving amount of $2,250.00 unallocated, if these funds are not allocated they revert back <br />to the State on December 31 Brief presentations were given from 3 programs. Boys & <br />Girls Club, Shift Mentoring and Teen Court, each program was given 2 minutes. <br />Boys and Girls Club: Valerie Melton stated the cost per kid at the BGC was $1,468 that <br />would serve 2 more kids with the money. <br />Shift Mentorinm: Lenny Stallings stated there cost per kid was $280.00 and with the <br />$2,250 they would be able to serve 10 more kids. <br />Teen Court/ Restitution: Cynthia Seaforth stated with the $2,250 they would use the <br />money to put back into Restitution on line item #250 to support the van operations, <br />insurance cost would be $1,552 yr along with maintenance for the van average cost $648. <br />Discussion occurred, Sue Burns making a motion to split the money three ways with each <br />program getting $750.00. Second made by Steve Ayers, vote came to For: 8, Against: 4 <br />Reapprove the FY Budget for 2012 -13 Motion: Brent Cloninger, Second: Perry Gabriel <br />New Business: <br />Program Reports: <br />Boys & Girls Club: Valerie Melton reported for the month of August she was in training <br />and missed that meeting. August they had 13 admissions, 0 terminations, going into the <br />month of September they begin with 13 and had 5 admissions with a current total of 18. <br />Valerie also stated they were working with court councilors, and looking at ways to work <br />With 9 t " graders after school. They have no waiting list. <br />Home Based Services Jane Cauthen reported for Michelle Brewton for the month of <br />September. Home Base is running well, they did some fun things over the summer which <br />kept them involved. Also Amy, will be leaving on Friday going to another agency to do <br />private therapy. That position will be filled. New Referrals received were 2, cases closed <br />4, total number cased at the end of the month 16, with no waiting list. <br />Sex Offender /Evaluations & Treatment: Karen Carpenter was not present, but there <br />program had nothing to report at this time. They were just approved the $25,000 at our <br />last meeting in September. <br />Shift Mentoring: Lenny Stallings: advised they had no report, they were working with <br />Rich Smith getting things worked out with the agreement. Lenny stated they had 6 kids <br />enrolled in the program and 18 kids at Hickory Ridge, there funding was coming from <br />private funding and donations till they start to receive the funding from JCPC. <br />Teen Court / Restitution Cynthia Seaforth welcomed back Kareen Taylor she will be <br />working with Conflict Resolution and Community Service for Cabarrus County. Cynthia <br />stated the program was getting referrals and they were coming in from school resource <br />officers. Cynthia got to meet some of the School Resource officers for the city and <br />county, which was a good opportunity to meet them and explain the benefits for using <br />Teen Court. Beginning number was 16, admissions 10, terminations 11 and ending <br />number 15, with no waiting list. <br />Conflict Resolution & Community Service Kareen Taylor gave the report, 15 referrals <br />of which 12 families have completed the intake.
