Grant staff will develop lesson plans, teach classes and train staff and volunteers. There will be 4 class types: 1) For adults to learn basic computer skills, use of the PAC, MSOffice applications, NC LIVE databases, job searching skills, resume writing, genealogy skills, and demonstrations on other library databases; 2) For adults to learn technology skills. Classes will include instruction on the use of cell /smart phones, eReaders and other related devices; 3) For adults served by the Literacy Council. The classes will include basic computer skills and literacy related classes using software geared toward low level adult readers and new adult readers; 4) For Literacy Council volunteers. Volunteer tutors will how to use computers and technology with their students. Once technology and computer skills are learned patrons can achieve personal goals which may include getting a new job, advancing at current job, completing or furthering education, learning to use library resources, or just learning new skills.
