Cabarrus County Public Library 5 <br />closed. Literacy volunteer training will be done through quarterly in- service training coordinated by the Literacy <br />Coordinator. <br />Every day, multiple times a day, the library is visited by patrons seeking jobs who feel overwhelmed by the <br />digital world. They are bewildered by everything from creating resumes and setting up an email accounts to <br />applying for jobs online. Library staff hope to systematically provide the tools they need in order to succeed in <br />the digital world. <br />8. EVALUATION <br />This project will be evaluated in a number of ways. <br />The following statistics will be recorded. Objectives for each statistic are noted. <br />• Number of lesson plans developed: 20 <br />• Number of library staff to be trained: 12 <br />• Number of classes conducted for public (by library staff and grant staff): 144 <br />• Number of participants in public classes: 770 <br />• Number of literacy volunteers to be trained: 15 <br />• Number of classes conducted for literacy students (by grant staff and literacy volunteers): 36 <br />• Number of participants in classes for literacy students: 108 <br />• Increase in use of online databases: 10% <br />Each lesson plan will be developed based on learning objectives for each type of class. At the conclusion of each <br />public class students will be given a survey to determine if those learning objectives were met (objective 75 %) <br />and if they have gain more knowledge and skills using computers. Students will receive a follow up survey (by <br />phone or email) after the class to indicate any successes or personal achievements that were obtained by taking <br />the class. <br />Staff will evaluate the training they receive through a survey at the conclusion of the training to determine if <br />they are better prepared to teach computer classes. They will also evaluate each class they teach to note any <br />successes or failures. <br />Literacy tutors will evaluate the training they receive through a survey at the conclusion of the training. They <br />will indicate if they are more equipped to use computers with their students. They will also receive a follow up <br />survey after the training to indicate any success with their student(s). <br />Literacy students will be surveyed by their tutors to note any successes. <br />9.
