Materials used in the construction shall be new and not less than the quality conforming to current <br />engineering and manufacturing practices. Materials shall be free of defects and suitable for service intended. <br />Does your bid comply? Yes _X_ No <br />Manufacturing Ability <br />It is the intent of these specifications that the manufacturer of these vehicles has the ability to manufacture a <br />complete ambulance within their plant facility, except for the chassis. The basic modular body must be built <br />"in house" by the manufacturing firm and not "farmed out" to another company, corporation or production <br />site. The entire modular unit must be built and finished in a single facility. <br />The ambulance manufacturer must have no less than 5 years of experience in the construction of modular <br />ambulance bodies and have built a minimum of 2000 such bodies. In addition, the Bidder/ manufacturer must <br />include with this bid valid contact information for a minimum of ten (10) prior purchasers of a similar <br />ambulance, with a minimum of three (3) from rural agencies in Idaho, in order to assist in our evaluation <br />process. <br />Does your bid comply? Yes _X_ No <br />Testing <br />The finished unit shall be subjected to complete testing including but not limited to fit and finish, door, door <br />and cabinet latching, locking mechanisms, lights (both chassis and conversion), siren(s), environmental <br />systems, suction and oxygen systems, general vehicle electrical systems, and restraint devices. The vehicle <br />shall be driven for a distance of not less than 15 miles over a variety of roads to check for operations, noises, <br />etc. Any defects found shall be noted and corrected. <br />Does your bid comply? Yes _X_ No <br />There shall be a water test conducted to check for leaks. This test shall be conducted in a specific booth or <br />room designed for that purpose. There shall be multiple pressurized water jets from multiple directions for a <br />minimum of 10 minutes.
