Mud Flaps <br />In order to provide additional protection to designated areas of the chassis and module, the manufacturer <br />shall provide heavy -duty rubber mud flaps securely attached behind the rear wheels. <br />Does your bid comply? Yes _X_ No <br />Running Boards <br />The cab will be fitted with aluminum diamond plate running boards. The boards will be securely attached to <br />the cab and module. They shall incorporate a Grip Strut type surface for improved foot traction. <br />Does your bid comply? Yes _X_ No <br />ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS <br />Electrical System <br />The emergency medical vehicle's electrical system shall be equipped with, but not limited to the following: <br />three 12 volt batteries, ignition, starting, generating, lighting, visual and audible warning systems; specified <br />electronics equipment and devices to include control consoles located in the cab and patient compartment and <br />other specified accessory wiring. The electrical systems and equipment shall comply with all applicable FMVSS <br />including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), and shall also conform to all the applicable SAE <br />recommended standards and practices whether or not specifically referenced in this document. Additionally, <br />the electrical system shall meet the requirements of AMD Standard 005. All electrical and electronic <br />components shall be selected to minimize electrical loads and levels of heat generated by those electrical <br />components thereby not exceeding the vehicle's generating system capacity or diminish its ability to provide <br />the required levels of electrical power. Electrical systems utilizing switching of "hot load" circuits for <br />emergency and warning lighting shall not be accepted by the Purchaser. All electrical system components and <br />wiring shall be readily accessible through access panels for checking and maintenance. The cab and patient <br />compartment consoles shall also be constructed in such a way that the switches and gauges are easily serviced. <br />They shall be accessible through service panels. These panels will be secured in the closed position in a <br />positive manner, yet be easily opened for service. In order to provide optimal protection from weather, <br />contaminants, and other potential hazards this electrical cabinet shall be located inside the module itself. <br />Ambulances with the electrical cabinet accessible from outside of the module are not acceptable and are cause <br />for rejection of the bid. <br />23 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -2 Page 71 <br />
