CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />JUNE 17, 2013 <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Human Services Foster Care Budget Revision <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />During FY 2012-2013, the Department requested $1,300,000 in funds <br />for the Foster Care line item 00195675-9462. These funds provide for <br />foster care and payments on behalf of children in the care of the <br />Department. Through the budgetary process, $900,000 was allocated <br />to this line item for these expenses as well as $400,000 of the fund <br />balance was assigned to cover any expenses above the budgeted <br />amount for foster care, should it be needed. The Board approved an <br />additional $200,000 at the April regular meeting, however the <br />Department estimates the need for an additional $120,000-$150,000 to <br />meeting in this fiscal year, the maximum amount is requested for <br />approval. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt the budget amendment <br /> <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />G-6Page 271 <br />
