Cabarrus County <br />Department of Human Services <br />To: Mike Downs, County Manager <br />From: Ben Rose, Director of Human Services <br />Re: Proposed Strategies for Addressing Food and Nutrition Backlog <br />At the August 5, 2013 work session of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, we <br />addressed potential strategies to address the backlog of cases we have within Food and Nutrition. <br />One of the discussed strategies was a new phone policy that would limit phone calls to workers <br />within the Economic Services Division to allow for more intensive processing of cases. Upon <br />review of this proposal, the board requested more specific information regarding how this policy <br />would work in addition to potential estimates for additional temporary staff to assist with the <br />program. <br />Please find attached information regarding both request for consideration of the board.
