ADDITION <br />y • � CABARRUS CO UNTY <br />B OARD OF • • <br />REGULA <br />August 19, 2013 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager — NC Cooperative Extension Service Request for <br />Special Leave <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The State budget for FY 2013 -14 included an additional 40 hours of paid <br />leave for State employees. Local Cooperative Extension employees are <br />compensated in part by the local jurisdiction. The Director of County <br />Operations, Sheri Schwab, has requested action by the local <br />jurisdictions to either award the local proportional share of the <br />awarded leave or not. Local Cooperative Extension employees are not <br />eligible for the cost -of- living and merit raises that the BOC awarded <br />County employees as part of the County's FY 2013 -14 budget. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to agree to award or not award the proportional match for the <br />"Special Leave ". <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />H -8 Page 552 <br />
