CABARRUS COUNTY
*`
BOARD OF
REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 16, 2013
6:30 P.M.
AGENDA CATEGORY:
Consent Agenda
SUBJECT:
Tax Administration - Request Approval of the Final Survey of the
Cabarrus /Stanly County Line
BRIEF SUMMARY:
In 1994, 1997, 1999, and 2006 the Cabarrus County Board of
Commissioners requested that the North Carolina Geodetic Survey
(NCGS) aid us in establishing our boundaries with surrounding counties
by a resolution in accordance with GS 153A -18. Greg Belk, Special
Boundary Commissioner for Cabarrus County, reports the NCGS has
approved the final survey of the Cabarrus /Stanly County Line, all
monuments have been set and the survey is ready to record.
Once the survey is approved and recorded by both Counties, the County
Assessors will work together to properly divide all affected parcels. Since
it will take considerable time and effort for the Counties to properly divide
and appraise each parcel affected, the effective date of this line will be
December 31, 2014.
REQUESTED ACTION:
Motion to adopt the attached Resolution of County Boundaries Common
with the Counties of Cabarrus and Stanly and to accept the County lines
as shown on the plat entitled "County Boundary Re- survey Plat For: THE
CABARRUS- STANLY COUNTY LINE, Cabarrus County & Stanly County,
North Carolina," and dated May 2013, as being the true boundary
between the Counties.
EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION:
F -9 Page 274
