ADDITION <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 2013 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />CCS - Recognition of Honors Awarded to Cabarrus County Schools <br />Personnel <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners would like to recognize the <br />honors awarded to the following Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) <br />personnel: <br />Carla Black, Concord High School Principal, was named "Educator of the <br />Decade" by the Cabarrus County NAACP. Ms. Black was presented her <br />award at the Cabarrus County Board of Education meeting on August 12, <br />2013. <br />Emily Riley, Cabarrus County Special Olympics Coordinator, was chosen <br />as "2013 Special Olympics of North Carolina's Coordinator of the Year ". <br />Ms. Riley was presented her award at the Special Olympics North <br />Carolina Leadership Conference on August 8, 2013. <br />Lisa Conger, CCS Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), was <br />designated as "2013 North Carolina Danny Hardee CTE Administrator of <br />the Year ". Ms. Conger received the regional award in the spring before <br />competing against other regions throughout the state. <br />Lynn Rhymer, Central Cabarrus High School Principal, was named "2013 <br />Well Fargo Principal of the Year for Cabarrus County Schools" by a <br />program co- sponsored by Wells Fargo and the North Carolina Department <br />C -1 Page 156 <br />
