CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 21, 2013 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Restoration of the Memorial Fountain at the Historic <br />Courthouse <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Historic Concord Preservation Trust and Cabarrus Chapter of the <br />Daughters of the American Revolution would like to partner with Cabarrus <br />County to restore the Memorial Fountain at the Historic Courthouse. A <br />letter is attached outlining their proposal and the division of responsibility. <br />The County General Services Department has worked with a water <br />feature /fountain installation and service company to determine the <br />approximate cost to the County for this proposed project. The proposed <br />cost would be approximately $20,000 with nearly a 50/50 cost share <br />between organizations. The County would be responsible for all items <br />related to the pool, pumps, filtration, water supply and infrastructure for <br />the fountain. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the County's participation with this project and related <br />budget amendment, and to authorize the County Manager and County <br />Attorney to complete all necessary agreements. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Jonathan B.
