CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 21, 2013 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments (Removals) - Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Cabarrus County Tourism Authority Board of Directors recommends <br />the appointment of Ken Broom to fulfill an unexpired term ending June 30, <br />2016. An exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy <br />will be needed for him. The position was vacated by the resignation of <br />Phillip Cunningham from the Authority. <br />The nominating group and their nominee is as follows: <br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - Seat No. 8 - Ken Broom <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to remove Phillip Cunningham from the Cabarrus County Tourism <br />Authority's roster and thank him for his many years of service. <br />Motion to appoint Ken Broom to Seat No. 8 to complete an unexpired term <br />ending June 30, 2016; including an exception to the "residency" provision <br />of the Appointment Policy. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />1 Minute <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board <br />H -2 Page 157 <br />
