CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 21, 2013 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />General Services - Old Jail Demolition /Courthouse Annex Renovations <br />Construction /Demolition Bid Award <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Sealed bids from a formal bidding process were solicited for the Old Jail <br />Demolition and Courthouse Annex Renovations project and were received <br />on September 18, 2013. Staff and architect have reviewed the submittals <br />and a summary tabulation is attached. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the bid award and authorize the County Manager to <br />execute the contract between Cabarrus County and DH Griffin for <br />demolition services for $117,000 plus contingency; and Cabarrus County <br />and Liles Construction for parking lot and courthouse annex renovations <br />for $1,551,430 plus contingency, subject to review and /or revision by the <br />County Attorney. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Kyle Bilafer, General Services Director <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />COUNTY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS /COMMENTS: <br />This item was approved by the Board for inclusion on the Agenda as a <br />F -1 Page 57 <br />
