CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 18, 2013 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Cabarrus County Extension & Community Association (ECA) - <br />Presentation of Centennial Holiday Tree <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Cabarrus County Extension & Community Association (ECA) is a vital <br />group of volunteers that supports the work for the Family and Consumer <br />Science Program through the NC Cooperative Extension. <br />The North Carolina ECA reached its centennial mark in 2013. Throughout <br />the year, the ECA has celebrated its 100th anniversary by focusing on <br />service opportunities in and around Cabarrus County. One of these <br />projects is the Centennial Holiday Tree, displayed in the Rotunda and <br />decorated with handmade ornaments reminiscent of those that adorned <br />Christmas trees in 1913. It is the pleasure of the Cabarrus ECA and <br />Cooperative Extension to share this tree with the citizens of Cabarrus <br />County throughout the holiday season. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Joyce Kluttz, ECA President, for a presentation to the Board. <br />Recognize ECA members in attendance and express appreciation to them <br />for their service to the local community. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />10 Minutes <br />C -5 Page 55 <br />
