Cabarrus SWCD was formed in 1963 and is currently served by a staff of 3. The Cabarrus SWCD's mission is to initiate and carry out a local p rogram to assist and educated landowners, land users, responsible institutions and various groups in the community to plan, apply and maintain sound conservation practices and land use. Cabarrus SWCD exists to encourage the informed and responsible use of the land and all its natural resources. Top goals include conservation easements and land use planning, legislative initiatives, conservation education and community conservation. The District owns property and holds conservation easements. Current project timeline: Begin July 1, 2013 End June 30, 2015 3. Expected outcomes and specific deliverables.
