Salisbury Rowan Community Action Agency <br />To provide supportive services for families or individuals to develop skills and increased income so <br />they may rise above the income poverty level. <br />Objectives <br />o To provide family development and case management services for low- income <br />families so that they can rise above the poverty level. <br />o To ensure that program participants understand their role in the partnership with <br />SRCAA so they are able to identify, create and attain their goals. <br />o To continue our partnership with area corporate, private and community partners to <br />eliminate the barriers to poverty that prevent our participants from being successful <br />o To work closely with local offices of the Department of Human Services to address <br />the needs of our participants. <br />o To work closely with the Department of Workforce Solutions to keep the community <br />abreast of the employment trends and available work. <br />o Continue to provide Community Forums, individual participant counseling, <br />mentoring and referrals to increase participant awareness of community and agency <br />resources. <br />o To plan and implement goals and set strategies with the families. <br />o To continue to invite low- income individuals to join advisory boards and <br />committees. <br />o To increase fund development to close the gap between CSBG funding and <br />participants need. <br />o To continue to research, participate in national and local conversations about <br />poverty and its eradication, expanding the knowledge base of staff and participants. <br />Fiscal Year 2014 -15 Community Services Block Grant Application <br />Page 22 of 49 <br />Attachment number 2 <br />G -2 Page 290 <br />
