22 <br />N.C. 'Living Legend' profiled on CBS <br />CBS' "The Early Show" launched its "Local Legends" <br />series Nov. 30 with a profile of Max Woody in Marion. <br />Woody is a sixth generation chair maker and musician <br />who performs at Woody's Original Mountain Music, <br />across the street from his shop in McDowell County. The <br />series is slated to look at people across the country who <br />are representing their homeland and preserving their <br />cultures. <br />The Public Relations team of the N.C. Department of <br />Commerce's Division of Tourism, Film and Sports <br />Development pitched the idea of featuring Woody, who <br />has been instrumental in preserving the Appalachian <br />traditions of the area. In addition, Woody frequently <br />participates at N.C. Tourism Day activities at the 1 -26 <br />West Welcome Center. "The Early Show" loved the idea <br />and visited last week to film the segment. PR Manager <br />Margo Metzger served as guide for the show with <br />assistance from McDowell County Tourism Authority <br />Executive Director Carol Price who also appeared in the <br />broadcast. The broadcast reached an estimated audience <br />of 4.2 million viewers with an ad value of $1.35 million. <br />Watch the segment <br />Cary firm named as one of country's <br />most promising <br />Forbes has named A10 Clinical Solutions as the No. 48 <br />most promising company in America. The Cary -based <br />company, which is run by Leah Brown, is the only North <br />Carolina firm on the list. <br />This week's Certified Site is the International <br />Crossing International Drive (Concord, <br />Cabarrus County). This 18 -acre site is located <br />on International Drive, at the corner of <br />International and Poplar Tent Road in <br />Concord. There is easy access to the site <br />from Interstate 85, Exit 55. The site is in close <br />proximity to the International Business Park, <br />which employes more than 2,500 people. <br />International Crossing is conveniently located <br />20 miles from Charlotte Douglas International <br />airport and less than five miles from the <br />Concord Regional Airport.
