YETI BANS AND MILITARY SERVICE <br />ILY \ T 1 <br />A - K <br />4NAC <br />The goal of the NACo Veterans and Military Service Task Force (VMSTF) is to engage NACo and its members <br />to develop and highlight county best practices and policies to promote innovative programs, services and <br />benefits for our nation's military, veterans and their families. <br />Program integration will include coordination with veterans' service organizations and appropriate federal and <br />state government agencies to highlight key NACo objectives, including the County Government Works <br />campaign. <br />Major Activities <br />In order to include veterans and military service issues in health and human service planning, delivery, <br />coordination and outreach, the Task Force will meet at NACo's Legislative and Annual conferences to focus <br />primarily on best practices and policies in four subject areas: <br />1. Physical and mental health, substance abuse, suicide prevention <br />2. Housing and homelessness <br />3. Employment services and access to employment <br />4. Justice including law enforcement, courts and probation <br />Leadership Team <br />Chair: Commissioner Donnie Loftis , Gaston County N.C. <br />Vice Chair: Supervisor Pamela Lancaster, Hall County Neb. <br />Vice Chair: Commissioner Mike Ortner, Fall River County S.D. <br />Vice Chair: Jim Young, Veterans Service officer, Vernon County, Wis. <br />J Read more amar <br />Strengthening our Military Families: Meeting America's Commitment <br />This report outlines the Obama Administration's efforts to provide resources, leadership and support to the <br />nation's military families. <br />Joininq Forces <br />Joining Forces is a national initiative that mobilizes all sectors of society to give our service members and their <br />families the opportunities and support they have earned. <br />Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Call for Photos <br />The National Call for Photos is a campaign to collect a photograph for each of the more than 58,000 men and <br />women whose names are inscribed on The Wall. Collected pictures will be used in the Education Center at The <br />Wall. <br />Operation Military Kids <br />The U.S. Army's collaborative effort with America's communities to support children and youth impacted by <br />deployment by connecting them with local resources. <br />Camp Patriot (Montana) <br />Camp Patriot renews the dreams and visions of our disabled veterans for a meaningful future. We bring <br />disabled American Veterans to Montana for outdoor adventures or other activities of their choosing. <br />Page 162 <br />
