CABARRUS COUNTY <br />10 BOARD OF • • <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1� <br />'- - 1 1 <br />pTBcA�a 1 - <br />��fiiffJfl /�� <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Cabarrus County Schools Request for Extension <br />of Deadline for Funding Several Projects from the Last COPS (Certificate <br />of Participation) Debt <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County Schools requests approval from the Board of <br />Commissioners to extend the deadline to June 1, 2012 in order to <br />complete a limited number of additional projects for the four new schools <br />using existing COPS funding. The attached document is the latest update <br />on where Cabarrus County Schools stands with the remaining minor <br />project work that needs to be done. The deadline of February 28th was <br />the target date set for completion of the projects. However, for certain <br />projects, it is not possible to meet that deadline. The projects requiring an <br />extension of the deadline are identified in "green" on the attached list. All <br />the other projects on the list will be completed by the February <br />28th deadline. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Consider a motion to extend deadline from February 29, 2012 until June <br />1, 2012 for four new schools from COPS 2009. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Len Witke, Cabarrus County Schools <br />G -4 Page 248 <br />
