CABARRUS COUNTY <br />10 BOARD OF • • <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1� <br />'- - 1 1 <br />pTBcA�a 1 - <br />��fiiffJfl /�� <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments (Removal) - Piedmont Area Mental Health, Mental <br />Retardation and Substance Abuse Authority <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />At its December 19, 2011 regular meeting, the Board adopted a Joint <br />Resolution of the Boards of County Commissioners of Alamance, <br />Cabarrus, Caswell, Davidson, Rowan, Stanly and Union Counties. The <br />resolution states the Area Board shall be composed of 21 members with 3 <br />members from each county. <br />Sabrina Hafer's term of appointment to the Authority ends June 30, 2012. <br />She has served 2 terms and is ineligible for reappointment. To meet the <br />new Board requirements, it is requested that her position be eliminated <br />and her name removed from the roster. <br />At the work session, Commissioner Carruth advised that Tana Hartsell <br />has tendered her resignation. He requested her position not be filled until <br />the reorganization of PBH (Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare) Board is <br />complete. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to remove Sabrina Hafer and Tana Hartsell from the Piedmont <br />Area Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Authority <br />(PAMHMRSAA) roster and thank them for their service. Eliminate the <br />position formerly held by Ms. Hafer and suspend future appointments to <br />the PAMMRSAA for a 6 -month period or such time as the governance of <br />the PBH Board is resolved. <br />H -4 Page 266 <br />
