CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1� <br />p TBcA�a 11i JUNE 18 20 <br />��fiiffJfl /�� <br />1 P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Solid Waste - Resolution to Adopt the 3 -Year Update to the Solid Waste <br />Management Plan <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />NC General Statutes require that Cabarrus County develop a Ten Year <br />Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) and update the plan every three <br />years. This current update of the SWMP covers the accomplishments that <br />Cabarrus County has made with regards to solid waste reduction goals <br />over the past three years and sets parameters for the future. A public <br />meeting to receive public comment was held on May 15, 2012 at the <br />Center. There were no attendees. Further, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Mt. <br />Pleasant and Midland have adopted resolutions in support of the plan. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt resolution. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Kevin Grant, Sustainability Manager <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />COUNTY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS /COMMENTS: <br />This item was approved by the Board for inclusion on the Agenda as a <br />Consent item. <br />F -7 Page 124 <br />
