CABARRUS COUNTY
BOARD OF • •
*
REGULAR MEETING
8a i ► JULY 16 20
`iriJJ1 /J
6: 30 P .M.
AGENDA CATEGORY:
Appointments to Boards and Committees
SUBJECT:
Appointments - Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission
BRIEF SUMMARY:
The terms of appointments for the following members of the Cabarrus
County Planning and Zoning Commission end August 31, 2012: Richard
Price (Midland), Todd Berg (Concord), Brenda E. Cook (At- Large) and
Ted Kluttz (Alternate).
The Planning and Zoning Manager recommends the reappointment of
Rick Price to fill the seat for the Midland planning area. He is eligible to
serve another term and is willing to do so.
Todd Berg has served since 2005 and is not seeking reappointment. The
Planning and Zoning Manager recommends a current alternate, Ted
Kluttz, fill the seat vacated by Mr. Berg. Mr. Kluttz is a resident of the
Concord planning area, is eligible and willing to serve another term.
Please note that years of service as an "alternate" are not counted
towards actual "years of service ", pursuant to the Appointment Policy.
Ms. Brenda E. Cook has served since 2005 and is ineligible to serve
another term. It is recommended that Mary Blakeney, a current alternate,
fill the "At- Large" seat. Ms. Blakeney also serves on the Food Policy
Council and to appoint her will require an exception to the "service on
multiple boards" provision of the Appointment Policy.
Further, it is recommended that Andrew Deal, a resident of the Central
area, be appointed as an "Alternate" to fill the seat vacated by Ms.
Blakeney.
H -3 Page 338
