CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1� <br />p TBcA�a 11i NOVEMBER 19 <br />��fiiffJfl /�� <br />6: 30 P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Selection of Architect for Helms Hall Replacement <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The planning and design work for the replacement of Helms Hall at Camp <br />Spencer was included in the 2012 -13 budget. The construction money for <br />this project is included in the CIP and is scheduled for the 2013 -14 budget <br />year. A Request for Qualifications was issued and we received 5 <br />responses. A committee from the Manager's office, General Services and <br />the Active Living and Parks Department selected 3 firms to make <br />presentations to the committee. We are recommending that the team of <br />Shook Kelley and Site Solutions be selected for this project. That <br />recommendation is based on their understanding of the project needs, <br />demonstrated experience with similar projects, and their overall approach <br />to the project. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to select Shook Kelley /Site Solutions as the project architect for <br />the Helms Hall replacement and to authorize the County Manager to <br />execute a contract with them subject to review by the County Attorney. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Jonathan B.
