CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />`* 1 <br />11 NOVEMBER 19, 2012 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning & Development (Soil & Water Conservation District) - Grant <br />Application to North Carolina Agricultural Development and Farmland <br />Preservation Trust Fund <br />The Soil & Water Conservation District board wishes to submit one or <br />more applications to North Carolina Agricultural Development and <br />Farmland Preservation Trust Fund for the third consecutive year to obtain <br />funds for the purchase of one or more agricultural conservation <br />easements. Applications are due the same day as the December Board of <br />Commissioners' meeting, so authorization to submit these applications is <br />requested now. In addition to funds in the county budget, matching funds <br />will be requested from the federal government and from the landowners. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to authorize Soil & Water Conservation District board to submit <br />applications to the North Carolina Agricultural Development and Farmland <br />Preservation Trust Fund. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Dennis Testerman, Senior Resource Conservation Specialist <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />F -6 Page 58 <br />
