STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />COUNTY OF WAKE <br />An <br />Departmental Use Only <br />CENTER: 1611 -3701 <br />ACCOUNT: 536967 <br />CFDA: NA <br />AMOUNT: JLLQ . 0.00 <br />CENTER: 2710 <br />ACCOUNT: 532196002 <br />CFDA: NA <br />AMOUNT: $26,675.00 <br />North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services <br />Division of Soil and Water Conservation <br />Contract Number <br />THIS Grant Contract is made and entered into by and between the North Carolina <br />Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Soil & Water Conservation, <br />hereinafter referred to as "DSWC ", and the Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "District "; and referred to collectively as the "Parties ". The <br />District's federal tax identification number is 56- 6000281 and is physically located in Cabarrus <br />County, and is further located at 715 Cabarrus Avenue West, Room 301 Concord, NC 28027- <br />6214. <br />The District's fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30. <br />THAT WHEREAS, the DSWC is appropriated funds to support the operations and staff of <br />the 96 soil and water conservation districts (hereinafter referred to as "Districts "), and <br />WHEREAS, the DSWC is appropriated funds to cost share for technical assistance positions in <br />Districts, and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of this Contract is to establish a procedure for the DSWC to support <br />District operations and staff, and <br />WHEREAS, the DSWC and the District are responsible for the conservation of the State's soil <br />and water resources, and <br />WHEREAS, the DSWC and the District have a history of cooperating to administer conservation <br />programs, including the Agriculture Cost Share Program, Community Conservation Assistance <br />Program, the Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program, the Conservation Reserve <br />Enhancement Program, and other similar programs, and <br />WHEREAS, the DSWC and the Soil and Water Conservation Commission, hereinafter <br />referred to as "Commission" allocate funds to Districts to cost share for technical assistance <br />positions to support implementation of the cost share programs under its authority, and <br />WHEREAS, the DSWC and the Commission allocate funds to Districts to cost share for water <br />quality and water quantity best management practices with private and public landowners and <br />land users, and <br />WHEREAS, from time to time the DSWC may need to engage the District in other specific <br />activities to protect and restore the natural resources of the District. <br />Arro(;hmo nr number 1 <br />NCDA &CS Soil & Water Contract (Rev): 9/12 1 <br />F -7 Page 62 <br />
