ADDITION <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 17, 2012 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Recognition of Dana Eure on being selected Library <br />Director of the Year by the North Carolina Public Library Directors <br />Association (NCPLDA) <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />On December 6, 2012, Dana Eure was selected as Library Director of the <br />Year during the annual awards banquet of the NCPLDA in Winston - <br />Salem, NC. This award is considered annually and given to the current <br />library director who has contributed to the growth and development of <br />their library by providing leadership, inspiration, and creativity to staff, <br />patrons, and trustees. Under the director's leadership and abilities, the <br />public library has succeeded in providing excellent service to their library <br />community. A few highlights on her nomination form include the re -birth <br />and re- organization of Friends groups for each of the four libraries, <br />involvement with the redesign and remodel of the Concord Library (won <br />the NCPLDA Facilities Award last year), the funding obtained for 411 <br />Community Read, Supports Literacy in the Community, just to name a <br />few. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Dana Eure, Library Director, on being selected Library Director <br />of the Year by the North Carolina Public Library Directors Association. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />C -3 Page 37 <br />
