THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE <br />December 22, 2010 and January 2, 2011 <br />PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE <br />There will be a final public hearing on the revi- <br />sion to the Cabarrus County Hazard Mitigation <br />Plan on Tuesday, January 18 2011 at the Gov- <br />ernmental Center. The hearing will be held In <br />the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room <br />and will begin at 6:30 PM. <br />The existing plan evaluated the hazards in the <br />county and established hazard mitigation prac- <br />tices fo address these hazards: North Carolina <br />law requires each county to have a hazard miti- <br />gation plan. Adoption of the plan qualified <br />county residents to apply for assistance follow- <br />ing natural disasters. <br />The public is invited to participate in the hear- <br />ing. Any questions concerning this hearing <br />should be forwarded to the Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Management Department at 704- <br />920 -2143.
