7 <br />I <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 21, 2011 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />' Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />' Soil & Water - Recognition of Former Cabarrus Soil & Water District <br />Chairman Bob Ritchie as Recipient of 2010 Supervisor of the Year Award <br />' BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Craig Frazier, President of the NC Association of Soil and Water <br />Conservation Districts, will recognize past Cabarrus Soil and Water <br />Conservation District chairman Bob Ritchie as recipient of the statewide <br />2010 Supervisor of the Year Award. The NCASWCD Supervisor of the <br />' Year Award recognizes a district supervisor who has made significant <br />contributions to the conservation and proper management of North <br />Carolina's natural resources. The key qualification is a keen interest in <br />conserving our natural resources and a record of outstanding <br />contributions to the cause of conservation. The winner of the Supervisor <br />of the Year Award will be submitted for the National Association of Soil <br />' and Water Conservation Districts Distinguished Service award. The is the <br />second year in a row that a member of the Cabarrus S &W Conservation <br />District board of supervisors has received this statewide award. Ned <br />' Hudson was the 2009 award recipient. These awards recognize, in part, <br />leadership roles that Mr. Hudson and Mr. Ritchie held with the state <br />association as president and as chairman of a standing committee, <br />' respectively. <br />' REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Craig Frazier, President of the NC Association of Soil and <br />Water Conservation Districts and present and former Cabarrus Soil & <br />' Water Conservation District Supervisors in attendance. <br />Mr. Frazier will present the award to Mr. Bob Ritchie. <br />Recognize Mr. Ritchie for comments. <br />t <br />C -1 Page 30 <br />
