Cabarrus Economic Development has restructured and redesigned their website. New content and <br />targeted webpages have been added to help users find economic development and business <br />information more quickly. <br />The CEDC launched an innovative website in 2008 that was targeted toward site selection professionals <br />and created an email marketing newsletter to help drive traffic to the new website. They also started <br />using social media through Twitter, Linkedln and FaceBook. Now, they are leveraging social media <br />together with an even more interactive website, in a comprehensive strategy that is state -of- the -art for <br />the economic development industry. <br />The recently updated version of the website includes information on the following: <br />• Design update featuring key properties. <br />• Segmented information by industry (energy, life sciences, etc.) <br />• Revised navigation which creates "traffic funnels" to highlight relevant data to key targets <br />quickly. <br />• Addition of dynamic blog which will be aligned with other marketing efforts (conferences) and <br />help promote CEDC in search engine rankings. <br />• Recruitment of guest bloggers (i.e. local and regional professionals) <br />• Incorporation of multiple conversion points. <br />• Collection of visitor data through study request /inquiry forms (i.e. How did you hear about us ?) <br />• Increased measurability of conversions: <br />- # of inquiries through website <br />- # of downloads of professional studies <br />- # downloads of "fast facts" <br />- # of click - throughs to sites <br />- # of property sheets downloaded <br />
