Christian Ortiz <br />Dcicnn Rumbolo <br />Desi St. George <br />James Satterwhite <br />Erica Steele <br />Josh White <br />Micah White <br />Shamion Young <br />Sarah Yow <br />Presentation of Flags and Certificates of Authenticity <br />Mr. Gary Sain and Dr. Colleen Sain presented flags that were flown aboard a United States <br />Air Force C -130H aircraft, co- piloted by their son, I" Lt. Gary Sain, on a combat mission over <br />Afghanistan in support of the United States led war against terrorism — Operation Enduring <br />Freedom. I" Lt. Sain is a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School where he was a member of <br />AFJROTC. <br />Dr. Barry Shepherd accepted a flag on behalf of Cabarrus County Schools. Ms. Natasha <br />Thompson, Principal of Central Cabarrus High School, and Lt. Col. Nelson English accepted a <br />flag on behalf of NC -051 AFJROTC, which is housed at Central Cabarrus High School <br />SETTING THE AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Ms. Cindy Fertenbaugh that the agenda be amended to add approval of a <br />resolution to support the one - quarter cent county sales and use tax that the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners has entertained, which would allow the County to maintain the current <br />property tax rate. The motion was seconded by Mr. Tim Furr. The motion was unanimously <br />approved. <br />RECOGNITIONS <br />Impact through Education Awards — Weddington Hills Elementary School and Concord <br />High Sehool/Mrs. Ronnye Boone <br />The following students and staff were recognized by Mrs. Ronnye Boone, Public Relations <br />Director, as Impact through Education Award recipients from their respective schools: <br />Weddinaton Hills Elementary <br />Lucas Plott (Parents: Mark and Renee Plott) <br />Ariyana Miri (Parents: Mehdi Mid and Maryam Kazempour) <br />Karen Scalf— Certified Staff <br />Lillian Moss — Support Staff <br />Attachment number 3 <br />G -6 Page 228 <br />
