CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 16 2011 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Old Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Resolution Authorizing Auction Sale of the Old Bethel <br />School Property - Update & Bid Award <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Earlier this year, the Board authorized the sale the old Bethel School <br />property located on Highway 24 -27 in Midland by accepting sealed <br />bids. One nominal bid was received on February 28th and <br />subsequently rejected by the Board at their March meeting. <br />On April 4th, the Board adopted another resolution stating that sealed bids <br />would be accepted until 3 p.m. on Friday, May 6 and that the Board will <br />award or reject the bid at its May 16th meeting. <br />Two (2) bids /proposals were received as indicated on the following bid <br />tabulation sheet. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Consider a motion to accept or deny the highest bid /proposal.
