CABARRUS COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 15, 2011
6:30 P.M.
AGENDA CATEGORY:
Consent Agenda
SUBJECT:
Finance - Approve Budget Revision to Eliminate the Worker's Compensation
Budget for FY 2012 - $603,213
BRIEF SUMMARY:
At the end of June 2011, the County transferred the Worker's Compensation
Program from Cabarrus County to the Carolina Governmental Alliance (CGA).
This action took place so that all self- insured insurance programs which are
administered by the CGA could be located under one entity. This will aid in
the administration of the two plans. The CGA was established by the Board of
Commissioners in 1997 with Rowan and Cabarrus County being the only two
members at that time. Since the Worker's Compensation program has been
transferred, the county needs to eliminate the adopted budget for FY 2012.
REQUESTED ACTION:
Motion to adopt budget amendment.
EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION:
SUBMITTED BY:
Pamela S. Dubois, Deputy County Manager
BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED:
Yes
F -5 Page 108
