IM Proclamation <br />r WHEREAS, October 9 -15, 2011, has been designated DECA Week; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the mission of DECA is to prepare emerging leaders and <br />entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management; and <br />WHEREAS, DECA's guiding principles are designed to explain how DECA fulfills their <br />mission; and <br />WHEREAS, DECA enhances the co- curricular education of members through a <br />comprehensive learning program that integrates into classroom instruction, applies <br />learning, connects to business and promotes competition; and <br />WHEREAS, DECA's activities assist in the development of academically prepared, <br />community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders; and <br />WHEREAS, DECA's attributes and values describe the organization's priorities and <br />standards, including competence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork; <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />do hereby proclaim October 9 -15, 2011, as <br />DECA Week <br />in Cabarrus County and urge all citizens to become familiar with the services and <br />benefits offered by the DECA chapters at Concord High School and Jay M. Robinson <br />High School and to support and participate in these programs to prepare them for <br />college and professional careers. <br />IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, this 19 day of September, 2011. <br />H.
