A selection committee was assembled to select <br />three firms to participate in formal interviews. <br />The selection committee was comprised of: Curtis Teague, Concord <br />Deputy Fire Chief; Chris Honeycutt, Northeast Cabarrus Fire Chief; Robert <br />Earner, Mt. Mitchell Fire Chief; Allen Burnette, Midland Fire Chief; David <br />Montague, Cabarrus County Fireman's Association President; Jason <br />Burnett, Fire Marshal's Office. <br />Three firms were selected and oral interviews were conducted on August <br />18, 2011 with Public Safety Solutions Inc., VFIS, and Emergency Services <br />Consulting International. The selection committee recommends hiring <br />Public Safety Solutions Inc. to provide the services outlined in the RFQ. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the selection of the fire study consulting firm, Public <br />Safety Solutions Inc. to conduct a study of the fire protection services of <br />Cabarrus County and develop a long -range strategic plan for fire service <br />delivery. Authorize staff to negotiate a contract between Cabarrus County <br />and Public Safety Solutions Inc., and authorize the County Manager to <br />execute the contract, subject to revision by the County Attorney. <br />F -4 Page 63 <br />
