CABARRUS COUNTY CONSTRUCTION & RENOVATION FY 12 PROJECTS <br />CAPITAL PROJECT ORDINANCE <br />BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the <br />County of Cabarrus, North Carolina that, pursuant to Section 13.2 <br />of Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, the <br />following capital project ordinance is hereby adopted: <br />Section 1. The project authorized is the demolition of the <br />old Cabarrus County Jail facility, resurfacing of the old jail <br />parking lot, renovations at the Cabarrus County Human Services <br />Building, the Governmental Center Main Area Handler project, <br />demolition of the old Board of Elections building, replacement of <br />the roof at the Arena, and renovation of the Kannapolis Library <br />program room. The projects are funded by Capital Project Funds <br />(Capital Reserve). <br />Section 2. The officers of this unit are hereby directed <br />to proceed with this capital project within the terms of the <br />Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the budget <br />contained herein. <br />Section 3. The following budgeted amounts are appropriated <br />for the projects: <br />Demolition <br />of <br />old Jail and <br />new Parking <br />$2,000,000 <br />Renovation <br />of <br />Human Services Building <br />$1,000,000 <br />Governmental <br />Center Main Area Handler <br />$ 100,000 <br />Demolition <br />of <br />old Board of <br />Elections <br />$ 650,000 <br />Arena roof <br />replacement <br />$ 96,800 <br />Renovation <br />of <br />Kann Library <br />Program Room <br />$ 50,000 <br />Total <br />$3,896,800 <br />Section 4. The following revenues are anticipated to be <br />available to complete this project: <br />Capital Project Funds (Capital Reserve) $3,846,800 <br />Cannon Foundation Grant $ 50,000 <br />Total $3,896,800 <br />Section 5. The Finance Officer is hereby directed to <br />maintain within the Capital Project Fund sufficient detailed <br />accounting records to satisfy the requirements of the law. <br />Section 6. Funds may be advanced from the General Fund for <br />the purpose of making payments as due. Reimbursement to the <br />General Fund should be made in an orderly and timely manner. <br />Section 7. The Finance Officer is directed to report, at <br />the request of the Board, on the financial status of each project <br />element in Section 3 and on the total revenues received or <br />claimed. <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -7 Page 112 <br />
