CABARRUS COUNTY 2012 APPRAISAL MANUAL <br />EXTERIOR WALLS, cont. <br />LOG —The exterior wall is made of logs. <br />MASONITE — Highly compressed wood fiber hardboard siding, may come in 6 to 12 inch boards or in sheets. <br />MODULAR METAL - This refers to the common pre- finished metal walls used in warehouses, older mobile homes, commercial <br />construction and other similar prefab metal walls. <br />PRECAST PANEL - A modular construction material usually with a washed pebble finish. Such panels are pre -cast and brought <br />to the site to be erected or pored in place and tilted up. Normally used as the major exterior wall finish, it is most <br />often found on commercial and industrial buildings. <br />PREFINISHED METAL - This refers to the enameled or anodized metal, which is commonly used on service stations, <br />convenience stores and other metal, commercial structures. <br />REINFORCED CONCRETE - Concrete which has been reinforced with steel bars and pored in place as exterior walls. <br />SIDING MAXIMUM - A mixture of expensive siding or a siding put on in an unusual fashion. <br />SIDING MINIMUM - Used to describe infrequent or unusual combinations not otherwise described and reflects very low <br />quality materials. <br />SINGLE SIDING WITH WOOD FRAMING NOT SHEATHING - Denotes inexpensive wood framing without sheathing. <br />STONE - Refers to various good stone or stone veneers. <br />STUCCO - Stucco is a coating in which cement is used for covering walls and is put on wet, but when dry it becomes <br />exceedingly hard and durable. Stucco may be applied to block or a wire of wood lath. <br />STUCCO SYNTHETIC - An exterior wall consisting of rigid insulation board, reinforcing mesh and synthetic plaster or stucco <br />covering. <br />UTILITY BRICK - Utility brick or jumbo brick is normally a 4" brick wall backed with masonry or wood. <br />WOOD ON SHEATHING OR PLYWOOD - Wood is either lapped or 4 x 8 panels.
