<br /> <br />' S International Awards from the IAFE (International Association of Fairs and Expos): <br />1) First Place Communications Award Division 1: Outstanding Promotional Advertising-Outdoor <br />The purpose of this program is to improve the advertising and publicity programs of fairs and <br />' to provide recognition for those fairs doing an outstanding job. <br /> 2) First Place Competitive Exhibits Award Division 1: Outstanding Interactive Competitive Exhibit <br />' 3) First Place Competitive Exhibits Award Division 1: Outstanding General Competitive Exhibit <br /> Display Photo <br />' The purpose of the IAFE Competitive Exhibits Awards Program is to encourage fair members to <br />share methods, ideas, props, new or unique classes, and fair themes which enhance or expand <br /> the competitive exhibits areas. <br />' <br /> 4) Second Place Agricultural Award Division 1: Green Program <br /> 5) Second Place Agricultural Award Division 1: Agricultural Photo-Agriculture Series <br />' The purpose of the IAFE Agricultural Awards Program is to improve the agricultural educational <br /> programs of fairs, to help fairs determine ways they might be of service to their exhibitors, the <br /> fair-going public, and agriculture businesses, and to provide recognition of those fairs doing an <br />' outstanding job. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3 State Awards were received: <br />*This award was received from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences: <br />1) GOT TO BE NC EXHIBIT Commissioner of Agriculture Award in Category 3 <br />Each county fair is encouraged to create its own display using North Carolina food, <br />agricultural products, the Got to Be NC logo and incorporate the Got to Be NC Agriculture <br />Kid's Club contest, which may include the scavenger hunt, coloring contest or any other <br />educational information developed by the fair. <br />*From the NCAOAF (North Carolina Association of Agricultural Fairs) <br />2) Media Award for Governmental Fairs <br />3) Youth Award for Governmental Fairs <br />In an effort to recognize fairs and individuals who excel in the fair industry The North <br />Carolina Association of Agricultural Fairs makes awards presentations at its annual <br />convention. In an effort to make the award program even for all, fairs are divided into four <br />categories and judging is done by a person or persons not involved with a fair in the <br />category of the fair being judged. <br />• Category 1 fairs are whose total attendance is from 0 to 15, 000. <br />• Category 2 fairs total attendance is between 15,001- 40,000. <br />• Category 3 fairs total attendance of 40,001 and over. <br />• Governmental fairs, or fairs that are operated by city, county, or state governments are <br />in a separate category for the Fair awards program.
