CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 15, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Emergency Mgmt. -Non-Renewal of Fire Protection Contract with the <br />Enochville Volunteer Fire Department <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />In 2009, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners adopted a <br />resolution for the Odell Fire Department to enter into a financing <br />agreement to build a second station. This new station along with <br />Kannapolis station No. 2 and No. 5 will allow Cabarrus County to <br />discontinue its contract for fire protection with the Enochville Fire <br />Department, which is a Rowan County Department. Therefore, the <br />Cabarrus County Fire Marshal's office recommends that the current <br />contract for fire protection with Enochville Volunteer Fire Department not <br />be renewed.
