CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 15, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />Finance - Adoption of Revised Fund Balance Policy and Budget <br />Amendment Appropriating $2,000,000 to Self-Funded Insurance Funds <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />On June 14, 2005, the Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. <br />2005-17(attached) establishing fiscal management policies related primarily <br />to the use of fund balance. Due to fiscal pressures of the recesson, revisions <br />to the resolution are requested to allow greater flexibility in such <br />circumstances, as found in Resolution No. 2010-X. <br />Also, a budget amendment appropriating $2,000,000 from the General Fund <br />Balance for transfer to the Internal Service Funds is included for <br />consideration.
