CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 19, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />BOC -County Government Office <br />Sheriff's Adminstration Building to <br />Several County Departments: Boar <br />EMS Adminstration, and DSS Legal <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Complex - Upfit Seventh Floor of <br />Accommodate the Relocation o1 <br />d of Elections, Parks Adminstration, <br />There are 19,000 square feet available on the seventh (7th) floor of the <br />Sheriff's Administration Building to create flexible office space that could <br />accommodate the relocation of several of our county departments and <br />delay the need to construct a new office complex. Estimated construction <br />costs are projected to be much less than if the County were to build the <br />proposed new office complex. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to direct staff and YCH Architects to move forward with the <br />preliminary design work for the upfit of the 7th floor of the Sheriff's <br />Administration Building for flexible office space to be used by several <br />county departments and possibly state agencies. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />10 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />G-4 <br />Page 163 <br />
