Waits/Senior Planner <br />Subject: Reservation of Capacity and Capacity Certificate for the Forest Park Crossing Aparhnents <br />Date: 5/20/2010 <br />Forest Park Crossing, LLC, (709 North Main Street, Aynor, SC 29511) is requesting a Reservation of <br />Capacity for the Forest Park Crossing Apartrrent project, which consists of 56 multi-family units on <br />+ /-11.16 acres located off Little Texas Road in the City of Kannapolis, North Carolina <br />School Capacity Review <br />The Forest Park Crossing multi-family project is expected to produce approximately 8 <br />elementary/intet7r~ediate students, 3 middle school students and 4 high schools sttdents for a total of <br />15 students. The schools impacted by the project are Forest Park Elementary School, Kannapolis <br />Intermediate School, Kannapolis 1VTiddle School and A.L. Brown High School. <br />Note: The calculations below include the monthly enrollment figures from March 8, 2010. <br />The Counts Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) includes the following proposed improvements that <br />would create additional capacity for the schools impacted by the project: <br />Number of Additional Seats listed in CIP <br />Year School 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 <br />Elementary Forest Park <br />Intermediate Kannapolis <br />lvfiddle Kannapolis <br />High AL. Brown 500 <br />Seat Distribution Summary- (Based on July 2009 Capital Improvements Plan) <br />Elementary -The CIP does not include proposed improvements that would create additional <br />capacity for the school impacted by this project. <br />Intermediate -The CIP does not include proposed improvements that would create additional <br />capacity for the school impacted by this project. <br />Middle -The CIP does not include proposed improvements that would create additional capacity for <br />the school impacted by this project. <br />High - In fiscal year 2009, the County funded construction of the A.L. Brown wing addition and <br />vocational building renovations. These improvements are expected to be completed by Febiltary 2011 <br />will add 500 seats to the core capacity of the school. <br />The following table indicates available and planned school capacity, based on the standards for review <br />established in Chapter 15 of the Cabam>SS County Zoning Ordinance. <br />Attachment number 1 <br />G-3 Page 179 <br />
