CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 21, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Commerce -Amendment to Chapter 14 Code of Ordinances <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The proposed amendment to Chapterl4 of the Code of Ordinances <br />"Permits and Inspections" eliminates the requirement for an unlicensed <br />homeowner to take a proficiency test before obtaining a trade <br />permit. These tests have been required for electrical permits only and <br />information from the Department of Insurance brings into question the <br />legality of this requirement. The work performed by the homeowners will <br />be inspected to ensure compliance with code. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt ordinance amending Chapter 14 Cabarrus County Code <br />of Ordinances. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Jonathan B.
