CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 19 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Commerce - Atando Road - NCDOT Maintenance Abandonment Request <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />In order to make the Elma C. Lomax farm more secure, a portion of <br />Atando Road (approximately .23 linear feet or .231 acres) needs to be <br />abandoned by the North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) <br />so that security measures can be installed where the current road right -of- <br />way exists. A map of the part of the road to be abandoned is provided. A <br />resolution of support for this action is also included. A public hearing will <br />be required once NCDOT approves the abandonment. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt resolution. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Jonathan B.
