We understand and appreciate the Board's efforts to include as many citizens as
possible. However, we believe that the more involved the individual is with local aging related
issues, the better job they will do when it comes to making decisions on the regional level that
may have an impact on our services. Since this committee is involved with some policy related
issues and serves in an advocacy role, it is very important that they have a vested interest in
Aging related issues and understand how the decisions made at the regional and /or state level
impact local services.
The current Cabarrus County delegates do an excellent job representing the Department of
Aging and the older adults of Cabarrus County. The lines of communication between the
regional and local agencies are stronger than ever.
If I can offer any further explanation and /or support concerning representation of Cabarrus
County on this regional committee, please let me know.
Thank you,
Michael L.
