CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Human Resource - Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance Revision <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The ethics bill, H961, was signed by the Governor on August 2, 2010 and <br />becomes effective October 1, 2010. This law changes NCGS §153A -98 <br />which governs personnel records for county employees and impacts the <br />information regarding county employees that is considered public record. <br />This is a request to adopt the recommended changes to the Cabarrus <br />County Personnel Ordinance, Articles VII and X, for compliance with this <br />state law. A copy of the proposed revisions is included showing the <br />recommended deletions (red, line through type) and additions (blue, <br />underline type). <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt the recommended revisions to the Cabarrus County <br />Personnel Ordinance, effective date of October 1, 2010, with authorization <br />for staff to make necessary formatting and grammatical adjustments in the <br />published document. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Don Cummings, HR Director <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />Page 233 <br />F -12 <br />
